Psalm 23 is a psalm of peaceful trust in God - even in those times of greatest adversity. The 'Valley of the Shadow of Death' is a way that all Christians must one day walk. But what exactly does it mean? And why does a loving God lead his people into times of trial?

Ps.23.4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
