The Lord commands Moses and the Israelites to remember the Sabbath, an instruction initially given to Adam at the dawn of time. This is a day that is reserved exclusively for spiritual purposes, and therefore ought to be guarded scrupulously.
Exod.20.8Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
