The belt secured all the other parts of the armour. Truth is at the centre of the Christian soldier.
Here it speaks of our conduct, our sincerity. We must have that truth wrapped around us or we will be vulnerable to the wiles of Satan.
Eph.6.14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
